On August 7, 2024, anime streaming service Crunchyroll announced that it had achieved 15 million monthly paid users.
This is a huge milestone for the platform, which boasts the largest anime library, will over 50,000 episodes and 25,000 hours of anime programming.
Rahul Purini, Crunchyroll's President, shared his excitement at the achievement, saying, ''Today is an exciting milestone not only for Crunchyroll, but for the entire anime industry. It demonstrates that our partner's great tales, characters, and experiences are striking a chord with people all around the world in historic numbers. As the number of individuals interested in anime grows and the variety of content expands, we believe there has never been a better time to be an anime fan.''
Crunchyroll just revealed its new brand identity as the San Diego Comic-Con.
Crunchyroll continues to reach key milestones and Triumphs. Each season, the platform premieres 45 to 60 new returning series. Popular series include Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Chainsaw Man, Solo Leveling.
Last year, Crunchyroll collaborated with Sony Music Entertainment Japan to provide 3,300 music videos and concerts to the site.
Crunchyroll has also expanded its distribution by creating the Crunchyroll Anime Channel, which is now available on platform such as Amazon Freeview, LG Channels, The Roku Channel, VIZIO WatchFree+, and Sling.
Furthermore, Crunchyroll collaborated with Amazon Prime to develop a channel in several countries, including the United States, Canada, and India.
